Requirements Specification Purpose This Project will create a database to hold information about Sure Start’s extensive educational, welfare and social/recreational resources (books, CDs and videos) on their premises that Staff, Volunteers and Parents can borrow. It will contain information regarding lending dates and how long resources have been borrowed for. Definitions †¢ Borrower ID – the unique number given to the borrower when they joined the system †¢ Borrower – the name of the person who has taken out a book on loan †¢ Address – the address of the person who has taken out a book on loan †¢ Book ID – the unique number given to a book within the library †¢ Library Administrator – the full name of the staff member who is on the system †¢ Book Details – the author, title, ISBN, year and category of the book †¢ Loan Details - the loan out and due in dates of the book Functional Requirements The system will allow the user to: Must have (M)/ Should have (S)/ Could have (C)/ Won’t Have (W) Item Description Rating Contact Details The address and phone number of the borrower M Status Who is borrowing the book e.g. staff, volunteer, parent S Admin Details The name and contact details of the library administrator M Resource The number and type of resource borrowed M Resource Details The author, publisher, title, year of release and category of the resource M Loan Details The date out and due date in M Resource Status If item is overdue or missing S Keyword Search Enter a word and system will return useful answer C Report Produces a weekly or monthly report C Print Report Prints
